Th Chamber of the Santa Barbara Region has rescheduled its 11th annual Regional Business Awards for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Four Seasons Biltmore in the La Pacifica Ballroom, 1281 Channel Drive.
Initially, the event was planned for Jan. 17, but was postponed because of possible mudslides in Montecito in the wake of heavy rains. Last year, 23 people were lost in mudslides that destroyed or damaged hundreds of structures.
This year’s chamber Community Service Award goes to the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade, which used volunteers who helped Montecito dig out of the mudslides.
Women’s Economic Ventures also will be honored as the Nonprofit of the Year. It provided loans to assist businesses hard hit by the December 2017 Thomas fire and subsequent mudslides.
Five large businesses have been nominated for awards including: Acme Hospitality, Armstrong Associates, Kyle’s Kitchen, Los Arroyos restaurants and Schipper construction.
Five small businesses also have been nominated for awards, including: Anderson’s Danish Bakery & Restaurant, Imagine X Functional Neurology, MadFitness SB and the Good Lion lounge.
The program starts at noon.
