The second Impact Hub in Santa Barbara hosted its first public event April 26 in the Funk zone with the Chamber of the Santa Barbara Region.
An overflow crowd of some 200 business people gathered at the new Impact Hub, 10 E. Yanonali St., to mark the launch of “Impact,” Impact Hub’s new magazine, and the chamber’s “The Guide,” its annual member directory.
Impact Hub Santa Barbara’s first facility, 1117 State St., held a soft opening in summer 2016. It has grown to about 200 members. Some of those have migrated to the new facility.
Both facilities are collaborative, shared working spaces, featuring private offices, conference rooms, kitchens and other amenities. The new Impact Hub is embellished with two murals by Santa Barbara artist Nelson Parrish
While several entrepreneurs are involved with Impact Hub Santa Barbara, Kinko’s founder and now philanthropist Paul Orfalea is the key investor. He also is one of the many mentors at Impact Hub and teaches at USC and Loyola University.
