The holiday Santa Barbara Night Market opened the afternoon of Nov. 23 to scores of shoppers who could wait to get into the first floor of the old Macy’s building at State and Ortega streets.
The pop-up market will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday through Dec. 29 with many local retailers touting their wares in a dimly lit setting.
Retailers ranging from Deckers Brands to Karmic Circle Coffee are showing off their products to many shoppers who last year had to flee State Street because of smoke from the Thomas fire.
The “European-style” market will include snow outside in Paseo Nuevo with visits by Santa Claus.
A large wine and beer garden sells brews from local companies while several restaurants peddle their tasty menu items. Several nonprofits also set up exhibit booths.
