The city’s newest shared work space, IHub, 1117 State St., will host wine classes, probably in October.
Satellite Santa Barbara will offer the classes in what is described as a cafe, bar and “wine educator.” Organizers tout Satellite SB as the “only accredited wine courses in the city.”
The force behind Satellite SB is Drew Cuddy, a Canadian, newly naturalized U.S. citizen and a self-described wine and fine food junky. His wine education began with a trip to Italy at 15, which turned into annual work trips to vineyards each college summer. He has worked at many small family-run wineries across Italy, France, Spain and most recently with Medlock Ames Estate Winery in Sonoma.
Satellite SB’s cafe will officially open in November. For more information, see satelliteSB.com/classes.
IHub officials have postponed the shared work space facility’s from September to November. However, a number of events are scheduled before then at IHub. See http://impacthubsb.com/events/
