Cork Corner: IHub Plans to Host Wine Classes

The city’s newest shared work space, IHub, 1117 State St., will host wine classes, probably in October.

Satellite Santa Barbara will offer the classes in what is described as a cafe, bar and “wine educator.” Organizers tout Satellite SB as the “only accredited wine courses in the city.”

The force behind Satellite SB is Drew Cuddy, a Canadian, newly naturalized U.S. citizen and a self-described wine and fine food junky. His wine education began with a trip to Italy at 15, which turned into annual work trips to vineyards each college summer. He has worked at many small family-run wineries across Italy, France, Spain and most recently with Medlock Ames Estate Winery in Sonoma.

Satellite SB’s cafe will officially open in November. For more information, see

IHub officials have postponed the shared work space facility’s from September to November. However, a number of events are scheduled before then at IHub. See
