It’s no joke: April 1 is the target date to open the second Impact Hub Santa Barbara.
Impact Hub SB co-founder Dan Ferrick said March 14 the plan is to open the second collaborative shared work space at 10 E. Yanonali St. in just more than two weeks.
Carpets were being laid down during the second week of March after floors were resurfaced and glass-enclosed offices were being prepared. Appliances are expected to arrive next week in the spacious, circular kitchen.
Ferrick said the new, 10,000-square-foot facility is about 1,000 square feet smaller than the first Impact Hub Santa Barbara at 1117 State St. The first facility opened last summer and has drawn some 100 members.
Like the first Impact Hub Santa Barbara, the new facility has private offices and a great deal of shared table space for members. The Yanonali site also features a shower for those member who take a walk to the nearby beach or just a stroll around the Funk Zone with its many eateries, wine and beer tasting rooms and other attractions.
To date, about 100 Impact Hubs operating around the world. Some thought is being given to open a third such facility in the Santa Barbara area.
